George Bothamley

Cities and architecture were my first love in drawing.
Literally, the first task I ever set myself when learning to trace a picture of the Eiffel tower in Paris. And when that idea resulted in a spectacular failure, it let me to making a second attempt entirely free hand; which proved surprisingly easier.
Four months on from those early attempts, I drew my first really detailed cityscape - seen in the St Paul's cathedral picture above, which I completed at 18 years old.
And while my styles and subjects for drawing have extended a lot over the years since then - I will always have a special affinity with cityscape drawings.
