As a child, I didn't really have much of an interest in art.
So it was only in my late teens when I was going through a lot of personal struggles (and pretty much lost my ability to communicate adequately in any other way) that I came to appreciate more of the beauty of this means of expression.

The picture of St Paul's Cathedral (seen at the very bottom of this page) was actually one of my very earliest works - completed only four months after first taking up drawing.

And ever since then, pretty much all my works have been created entirely free hand (usually in pen and ink) with no drafting, or technological aids etc - so that the end result is as raw and unedited as possible.

Over the years, I have worked on a number of commissions for private collectorsbut I only take on a few select projects each year to ensure each project is given full attention.

If you'd like to commission a drawing, or enquire about purchasing any you see below (apart from St Paul's one, which is sentimentally not for sale)  please do get in touch.

My availability for new work will be open again from February 2024

Circles - The Brand New Series for 2024

Inspired by the story of Apelles - the greatest artist from ancient Greece - who was said to be able to draw a perfect circle entirely freehand.

When seen from afar, George's large scale drawings appear to be like alien moons,  maps of our solar system, or illustrations of our Subatomic w
orld.
But, look closer, and their sheer obsessive detail is even more remarkable.
Formed entirely of tiny circles - all entirely hand drawn, with no other equipment beyond a simple ink pen.
They are captivating - emotionally charged - and truly impossible to replicate.

I have no formal training as an artist. And my style of drawing is quite raw in that i don't tend to use drafts or underdrawings etc.

However, through my own studies, i fell in love with the art of the past; and draw particular inspiration from the renaissance masters, post impressionism, ancient sculpture and prehistoric cave painting.

As such, my art is about combining all of these influences.

I want my work to be like a homage to the masters who have inspired me so much.

And, at the same time, i hope to provide an alternative to the modern world - using the most basic artistic mediums possible in order to express emotional intensity.
